How to Review Licensing and Facility Information
Adult family homes in Washington are licensed and regulated by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). You can verify a home's license and look up licensed homes yourself:
- DSHS provider search — Washington's "Find an Adult Family Home" search lists licensed AFHs you can review.
- Ask the home — Every licensed AFH must be able to show its current license and post it visibly.
- License questions — DSHS Residential Care Services can be reached at (800) 562-6078 for license-status questions.
